Dr. Kalvin Gill
was born 48 years ago on a farm in a small village in India.
His farming family worked in the field to produce
crops for living. Kalvin worked with his parents to help support the family
during his schooling. His parents always stressed the importance of education.
He took that to heart and kept working in the field and studying until finished
his master's degree. He earned bachelors and masters degrees from well
known Indian universities. Kalvin was working as a lecturer at the time of his
marriage. He came to the U.S. in 1987 through his wife and started working as a
machine operator at a manufacturing company while attending college.
Dr. Gill currently works as the vice
president of business development for a San Jose software startup company. Dr.
Gill has more than two decades of experience in key Hardware/Software
Engineering, Reliability and Quality Control management positions at various
technology companies including IDS Inc., Flextronics International, Hyundai
Electronics, MMC Technology, Maxtor, Akashic Memories Inc. and Sun
Microsystems. Dr. Gill has been credited with many breakthrough developments in
software/hardware, quality and reliability engineering. He has also served as
an advisor for several technologies start-up companies.
Dr. Gill serves as a Board member of the Santa Clara County Open Space
Authority District 7. He is also a Human Rights Commissioner for the City of San Jose. He earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science and M.S. in Software Engineering. Dr Gill
has had numerous graduate courses and seminars in the areas of software
engineering Management and Process Engineering Developments. He leads a company
with a mission to develop and deliver innovative solutions to the wireless marketplace.
Kalvin and his wife, Parmjit have two children. Their son Navdeep is a graduate of Silver Creek High School and is currently in his 3rd year of medical school. Their daughter Pardeep is a 7th grader at Chaboya Middle School in
Evergreen.
