It has been an honor to represent you on the Governing Board of the Santa Clara County Open Space Authority for almost 2 years now. In that time we have:
Acquired and protected over 1,000 acres from willing sellers.
Continued to plan trail and public access to OSA properties.
Expanded the public outreach program to schools and senior centers.
Accepted the Citizen's Advisory Committee regional study on Agricultural Mitigation Policies.
Brought the OSA information booth to new community events in Evergreen and East San Jose.
Worked with OSA staff to review new acquisitions (from willing sellers) in the Evergreen Area.
Supported the Agricultural Park planning process for Martial Cottle County park in South San Jose.
While protecting threatened species, invited the community to tour the wildflower and special plant habitat on the protected Coyote Ridge property.
There is much work still to do. With your vote, I can continue my work to improve the efforts of the Open Space Authority to better serve our residents.
I am proud to have the sole endorsement of the California League of Conservation Voters Santa Clara County Chapter and the Sierra Club Loma Prieta Chapter. My wife and I have raised our children in Evergreen and we want to see open space protected for future generations.
